Michael Banner vacated the chair of moral and social theology at King's College London to direct the Genomics Research Forum at Edinburgh.

Professor Banner said the forum aimed to bring together scientists and those involved in public policy to debate advances in science. "It's not a question of promoting technology but ensuring that the debate about technology is as good as it can be."
