University of Warwick - Licence for hybrid embryos

A third British university has been granted a licence to work on human-animal hybrid embryos for research. The licence, granted to the University of Warwick by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority, is for one year and takes effect from 1 July. Newcastle University and King's College London also hold licences for the work, which combines human and animal DNA and was recently approved by both houses of Parliament as part of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill.
