University of Sheffield - Them bones find a home

A collection of human skeletal remains is to get a new home at the University of Sheffield, thanks to £25,000 worth of donations from an alumni campaign. The new "Juvenile Developmental Osteology Reference Collection", which includes remains found on archaeological digs, will be housed in museum-standard storage space for skeletons that are from 500 to 1,000 years old. It will form part of a new centre for human bioarchaeology. Miles Stevenson, director of development in the alumni department, said the university was "most grateful" to the former students that had donated.
