Sporty kids do better

A study from Manchester Metropolitan University challenges the popular stereotype that sporty children are more physical than academic. A major ten-year study carried out by the university's Institute for Sport and Physical Activity has shown that sporty children are up to eight times more likely to excel at exams than the couch potatoes. Researchers put these results down partly to "higher physical self-worth" giving a general boost to confidence.
