Don't take the U-HI road

一月 31, 2003

Pay attention: The Diary has an important clarification about the institution formerly known as the University of the Highlands and Islands. Its head of communications, Martin Wright, has issued the following edict: "The 'UHI' in 'UHI Millennium Institute' is not an acronym of 'University of the Highlands and Islands' and therefore must not be expanded in this way. Our title may be abbreviated to 'UHI' but not UHI MI or variations on this. In conversation, 'UHI' should be spelt out as 'U-H-I' and not be referred to as 'U-HI'. As UHI is not an acronym, we must not be referred to as 'the UHI'."
