University of Wales - Princely sum to attract graduates

An £11.4 million global scholarship programme has been announced by the University of Wales. The Prince of Wales Innovation Scholarships programme, which will be run by the principality's federal university, aims to encourage talented graduates to work with Welsh businesses by offering 100 PhD packages made up of an annual stipend of £20,000, a research grant of £5,000 and paid tuition. Students will undertake research projects to enhance the innovation potential of Welsh industry. The scholarships form part of a wider Global Academy programme being developed by the university and partners including the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts and the Welsh Assembly.
