University of East Anglia - The forgotten greenhouse gas

三月 6, 2008

A new forum was launched last week at the University of East Anglia to confront the threat from "the forgotten greenhouse gas", nitrous oxide. The Nitrous Oxide Focus Group, which is being co-ordinated by the university, brings together farmers, food suppliers, Government, business leaders and environmentalists to discuss the prospects of mitigation. David Richardson, dean of the faculty of science, who is helping co-ordinate the group, said that nitrous oxide accounted for 9 per cent of all greenhouse gases yet was 300 times more potent than carbon dioxide.
