University of Aberdeen - Training centre to open wide

十月 23, 2008

Access to NHS dentists is being boosted by a £21 million dental training centre that will produce 20 qualified dentists annually. Funding for the Aberdeen Dental School has come from the Scottish Government and NHS Grampian. Public Health Minister Shona Robison, who opened the centre, said: "We want as many people as possible to have access to an NHS dentist because we know good oral health is a key component of general health and wellbeing." The NHS Scotland Student Bursary Scheme gives the under-graduates £4,000 a year, on the condition that they carry out five years, or the part-time equivalent, of NHS dental work in Scotland.
