Daresbury Laboratory has cast itself in a new role as a props supplier after losing the Diamond synchrotron project to the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory. It has lent two models of DNA structures to the new James Bond film.

Excited staff member Brian Todd said: "I think it's tremendous that important breakthroughs in science are recognised within the fictional world of James Bond. The loan of these models should raise the public awareness of Daresbury's important contributions in biology. In my time at the lab, I've undertaken some odd jobs, but these have left me stirred, not shaken."
