Brussels, 20 Oct 2004

The European Commission has published a call for proposals for 'stepping up economic and technological intelligence' under the 'research and innovation' thematic priority of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).

Each economic and technological intelligence activity should address a specific research theme or industrial sector. In the second call, projects should concentrate on:
- (i) the involvement of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) or SME groupings in new and existing FP6 projects;
- (ii) enhancing the readiness of SMEs/SME groupings to participate in emerging and future European research and technological development activities and programmes.

Interested parties are invited to submit proposals using the 'specific support action' and 'coordination action' instruments.

The total indicative budget for this call is 22 million euro.
