Ranking and yanking

King's College London started it with their term "ASDA" - the university equivalent of anti-social behaviour orders. Academics are categorised according to their research prowess and those not pulling their research socks up are threatened with teaching-only contracts, the sack or similar. Along with others, University College London is mirroring the process, but its "RMAG" is being (more coarsely) labelled "rank and yank".
