Presidential post

四月 18, 2003

Someone with presidential style is being sought by headhunters Saxton Bampfylde Hever to run the merged University of Manchester and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. The institution has to consult not only on its name but on the titles of its senior officers, including the chief executive - provisionally "president".

The new boss must be up to speed on innovation and research and will have a negotiable salary comparable to Sir Martin Harris's £147,000 a year - but may still use a quill pen if preferred. The advert makes provision for those without access to the internet and email to telephone for an application form.
