The NERC's Antarctic Funding Initiative seeks to encourage field-based research conducted in locations within the British Antarctic Survey's operating area. Round 7 is intended to support research for which field operations will commence in the 2006/2007 season. AFI will usually provide funding for up to three years, although projects of longer duration can be considered if appropriate.
