Glasgow School of Art/Glasgow Caledonian/Strathclyde - Coming clean on our laundry

How we wash our laundry is to come under investigation by the Mackintosh Environmental Architecture Research Unit at Glasgow School of Art, backed by funding of more than £520,000 from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. The three-year project, which is to be conducted in collaboration with Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Strathclyde, will evaluate how much energy domestic laundry uses, and what damage this may cause in the home. The researchers aim to come up with suggestions for recovering heat from "grey" water and air.
