Bath, West of England and Exeter - Booster for workplace wellbeing

Academics in the South West are leading a region-wide project that aims to cut sickness absence by 25 per cent by improving wellbeing at work. The project will unite businesses, including Royal Mail and Airbus, with academics from the universities of Bath, the West of England and Exeter, to develop initiatives that address the problem. David Wainwright, from Bath's School for Health, convenes the Work, Health and Wellbeing Research Group, which obtained funding for the project. He said: "Sickness absence and work-related illness can seriously damage a company's performance as well as causing misery for workers."
