A Scottish university has linked up with a US Ivy League institution to boost scientific research. The University of Glasgow has signed a strategic agreement with Columbia University in New York that will enable academics from both centres to work together on research into cardiovascular disease, molecular pharmacology, neuroscience and genetics. The partnership will also include academic exchanges and the joint recruitment of a human geneticist who will work at both Glasgow and Columbia. The universities will also jointly develop PhD research and postdoctoral training.
