Twitterfall, a programme developed by students at the University of York to help users of social networking service Twitter find people writing about topics they are interested in, has caught the interest of a major media company. The second-year students in the department of computer science are now working with the company to evaluate how it might use Twitterfall as part of its own websites. The programme was launched earlier this year and has become hugely popular, attracting tens of thousands of users.
