University of Warwick - Bond villains are for real

十一月 13, 2008

Hot on the heels of the release of the latest James Bond film, a "spy researcher" from the University of Warwick has said the improbable villains favoured in 007 movies now bear a close resemblance to the real threats faced by modern security services. Richard J. Aldrich, professor of international security, said: "The Bond villains, including Dr No, Goldfinger and Blofeld, have always been post-Cold War figures. Bond's enemies are in fact very close to the real enemies of the past two decades - part master-criminal, part arms smuggler, part terrorist and part warlord. They are always the miscreants of globalisation."
