University of Leicester - Scientist aids murder hunt

十二月 4, 2008

A murder case on America's "Most Wanted" list is to be tackled by a forensic scientist at the University of Leicester, along with Northamptonshire Police. Marianne Wilkinson, 68, was killed as she answered the door at her home in Dallas on 9 December 2007. Brass shell casings found on the doorstep will be investigated with a technique developed by John Bond, an honorary research fellow at the University of Leicester Forensic Research Centre and a scientific support manager at Northamptonshire Police. The technique can enhance a fingerprint that has been deposited on a small-calibre metal cartridge case before it is fired.
