University of Wolverhampton - Survivor to mark Holocaust

一月 15, 2009

A survivor of a Nazi concentration camp will give this year's Holocaust Memorial Day Lecture at the University of Wolverhampton this week. Steven Frank, who was born in Amsterdam in 1935, was taken to the Theresienstadt camp, in what is now the Czech Republic, in 1944, and spent more than six months there before being liberated by Russian troops in May 1945. He will recount his experiences at the lecture, which is held annually at the university to mark January, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The event is organised by Dieter Steinhard, professor of modern European history and migration studies at Wolverhampton.
