The UK's first Centre of Excellence for Public Health focusing on nutrition and lifestyle has just opened at Queen's University Belfast. The £5 million centre is the first of five that will be created through a £20 million investment programme under the umbrella of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration. It will work with partners including the Medical Research Council to research the economic, social and biological factors behind chronic diseases.
