If you wish to study two academic subjects in depth our Joint Honours degree programmes are a great way to do this. Combining Education Studies and English Language degree programmes at York St John University provides you with the opportunity to study language from a broad range of perspectives, whilst also exploring how humans learn in a wide range of settings and institutions. Studying Language you will explore the way speech is articulated, how language is structured and related to meaning, and how it relates to speakers’ intentions and purposes in social interaction. Alongside this Education Studies gives you the opportunity to look at an area of human experience that initially seems obvious, but is full of hidden meanings, twists and turns. Central to this aspect of the programme is the examination of the idea that learning can take place in many different locations and many of these will be examined and evaluated.
