Due to its delivery being within the computing department it concentrates on the delivery of computer based solutions and the protocols associated with this technology. Studying Cyber Security will give students a deep understanding of IP telephony and the future and emerging technologies associated with this area. Opportunities are given to students to build and configure telecommunications system as well as the necessary support systems to enable them to work in a production environment. Additionally the course explores the issues associated with managing these types of systems and in particular the necessary aspects of network security. This degree combines aspects of computer science, computer programming and software development with some elements of electrical engineering.
