It is no surprise that computing specialists are in high demand - computers and computing technology are now part of almost everything we do. The impact computers have on every aspect of our lives has deepened dramatically over recent years, with the growth of the internet and mobile communications driving change. Computers are now used within virtually every business, industry and organisation. This course was developed to fulfil a recognised need for more computer specialists who can develop computer software and design or maintain computer systems. Studying computing, you will develop a number of practical skills which are useful in any field of business, such as how to use information technology effectively as well as understanding specialised software. You will gain practical experience through work placements and working on real life projects as part of the course. You will also learn how to research, analyse and present your ideas. As you progress through the course you will gain invaluable transferable skills for your future career, including self-motivation, time management, problem-solving and project management.
