Complementary Therapies for Healthcare

The course helps each student to develop into a practitioner who is capable of using and contributing to the body of knowledge and research, which supports the practice of complementary therapies. Glyndŵr University has a clinic on campus where you will be able to gain all the experience you’ll need to become a competent, confident and professional clinician. Staff, students and the general public receive treatments at the clinic which is open five days a week. The clinic has eight treatment beds, ensuring students have the facilities they need to carry out their training. The degree is accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists. You will be eligible to join the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) as a student member. Membership is automatic and you will be required to inform the FHT that you are a qualified practitioner on graduation. Emphasis is placed on you gaining practical experience in our clinic as well as learning key business skills to enable you to set-up your own business should you wish to follow this career path. The course responds to the growing demand for academic qualifications in the field of complementary medicine.
