Sports Coaching Science

**If you’ve decided to focus on coaching, we’ll help you develop a keen understanding of the scientific techniques involved, and explore the wider social and cultural factors that influence sport. Of course, you’ll also gain a thorough grounding in the practical aspects of this fascinating vocation, using outstanding lab and playing facilities.** **Alongside your degree, you’ll also have the chance to work towards coaching and industry qualifications. We give you the time, space and subsidies to choose from a range of national governing body coaching awards. You can also build your experience through paid coaching placements in the community and with professional clubs.** - Excellent facilities – including our Biomechanic Laboratories and Motion and Performance Centre – which you use every week for lectures and practical sessions - Great playing facilities outdoor and indoor, including the University of Worcester Arena, an official Paralympic training venue and winner of the 2015 Guardian Buildings that Inspire Award - Lecturers who are trained practitioners in sport or exercise science, and still do the job in the community – they can show you tips and short-cuts you won’t find in any textbook - Guest lecturers, including Worcester Warriors Rugby Club Head Sports Scientist; Ross Dewar, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Worcestershire Cricket Club; and Steve Ingham, Jessica Ennis-Hill’s physiologist
