Plants are crucial to a surprisingly large number of processes on our planet. They stand at the base of nearly every food chain, and are instrumental in the production of clothing, vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and even plastics. With an ever-increasing global population, and an increasingly unstable climate, plant sciences are more important now than ever before. At Worcester you can explore how plants grow, develop, reproduce, evolve, fight off pests and diseases, and interact with and respond to their environment. During the fourth (masters) year you will undertake a very research oriented programme which will take full advantage of the academic and commercial research expertise in Plant Science within the department.
