Counselling Psychology

Counselling psychologists play a vital role in society, helping people to navigate an increasingly complex and fast-paced world and empowering them to find their own path through life’s tangled terrain. Counselling Psychology is an amalgamation of psychological theory, research and therapeutic practice. This course will provide you with an understanding of the core principles of psychology, with an added emphasis on how theories of personality and relationship formation underpin our understanding of mental health and counselling. You will also explore questions of how to communicate effectively, and negotiate the professional and ethical issues that arise when practicing counselling.
