The programme emphasises the mathematical approach to the computational analysis of data. This interdisciplinary programme combines underpinning knowledge in computer science, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, and computer programming. The aim of the first academic year is to build a strong mathematical and computer science foundation knowledge. You will be introduced to programming, data structures, database analysis and data analysis. The second academic year, statistical topics are explored in considerable depth and you are introduced to different software development languages. In addition, information management and data analytics are explored further. Before moving on to the final year, you may choose to spend a year on a work placement in a business organisation. The final academic year, the Data Science project allows you to showcase the skills you have developed. The remainder of the year includes modules from computer science, business management, and mathematical modelling.
