Social & Creative Transformations

The BA (Hons) Social & Creative Transformations degree is the first in Scotland to immerse students in interdisciplinary research from day one. You will be introduced to the key ideas, arguments and techniques across our diverse areas of expertise, including social science, film and broadcast, journalism, and the creative arts - and empowered to develop and apply your skills outside the university walls. Over the course of the degree programme you will undertake collaborative research with students overseas, devise and deliver advocacy campaigns, contribute to research publications and events, and create a wide range of exciting assessment outputs (e.g. films, policy papers, blogs, investigations, digital portfolios, posters) that you can share with friends, colleagues and employers to enrich your life outside university. Working with other students and academic staff you will develop expertise in research and critical thought, underpinned by deep insight into the key themes in social and cultural theory. You will develop and extend the key technical and production skills you need to have your voice heard in the contemporary digital world. You will release your potential as a collaborative, ethical and reflective practitioner. And you will graduate with an unrivalled set of experiences and tangible outputs that will make you stand out as a professional, an activist, a creative practitioner - and as a citizen.
