Applied Bioscience - University of the West of Scotland

This programme equips you with the skills to pursue a career within biological sciences, in disciplines such as molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology and immunology. Career options include clinical, food & beverage, environmental or industrial sectors, research and teaching. Graduates are eligible for membership of the Royal Society of Biology Work-related learning is available, including an optional 12-week placement or one-year sandwich placement. Students have undertaken placements with organisations such as the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow, Devro and Controlled Therapeutics (Scotland) Ltd. Career paths include research; analysis; production and quality assurance; sales and marketing; clinical trials and the traditional bio-industries such as brewing and food processing. MSc or PhD options are available for graduates. This qualification is acceptable for embarking on teacher training (Biology and Science) courses.
