Media and Communications

This degree provides hands-on experience of a range of media alongside more traditional academic study, thereby equipping students with the transferrable skills required to begin a career in the media, communications, and cultural industries. While studying the Media and Communications degree you will be taught by a staff team who combine leading-edge research activity with up-to-date industry experience. This includes, film, broadcasting and the cultural industries. Our lecturers are at the forefront of their disciplines as authors of new thinking, reviewers and editors. They are working as in-demand practitioners on real projects. This course offers a genuine opportunity to combine theory and practice, culminating in a final year in which students produce both a project and a dissertation. Your degree can take you anywhere, but some of the most popular careers for graduates include journalism and the broader media. You may also wish to undertake postgraduate study to specialise in a subject you’ve already studied, or to explore something new.
