This Certificate of Higher Education Premedical Sciences is a challenging one-year international course, co-developed by UWE Bristol and St. George's University (SGU) in Grenada in the West Indies. If you’re a student with A-level science qualifications, it’s an exciting route onto the internationally recognised, four-year Medical Programme at SGU. Taught in Bristol, with access to outstanding laboratory facilities, the course covers all the main areas of human anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, molecular biology and genetics that underpin a good understanding of human health. With input from leading external medical practitioners, you’ll be well prepared academically and professionally to go onto a medical degree. Completing the course successfully will guarantee you a place on the Medical Programme at SGU. After studying this course, you can also go straight into year two of some degree courses at UWE Bristol, including the BSc(Hons) Biomedical Science and MSci Biomedical Science. Graduating in science or medicine opens up many career opportunities, from positions in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, to roles in research and education.
