BA(Hons) Music is for performers, composers, sound artists and musicologists who want to explore new techniques and ideas, and develop their own creative musicianship. Work with professional creatives through our industry links and partnerships, such as with Bristol Music Trust. Benefit from being right in the middle of a music scene that’s thriving and constantly evolving. Massive Attack, Portishead and Roni Size have all helped create Bristol's distinctive musical identity. With world famous festivals like Glastonbury and WOMAD nearby, there are numerous opportunities to get involved. Our City Campus is a powerhouse of inspiration and collaboration. It spans across Bristol and includes renowned contemporary arts centres Spike Island, Arnolfini and Watershed. Study composition and performance, digital and traditional, and examine techniques and form. We know that tastes are eclectic, so we teach a wide variety of styles to give you inspiration and the tools to explore your creativity. You could be studying music business skills one day and classical traditions the next. Learn from visiting professionals, visit performance venues and work on projects with international musicians and venues. Build a professional music portfolio to showcase your skills to future employers. Choose a career in the music industry, music venue promotion and events or teaching, or go on to further study. Employers from other industries also value the practical, creative and intellectual transferable skills of music graduates.
