Bristol's music scene is powerful, thriving and constantly evolving, whether it's classical, jazz, trip hop or drum and bass. Massive Attack, Portishead and Roni Size have all helped create Bristol's distinctive musical identity. With world famous festivals nearby - at Glastonbury and WOMAD - there are numerous opportunities to get involved with and make music. If you're a performer, composer, sound artist or musicologist, this course will enable you to explore new techniques and ideas, and develop your own creative musicianship. You will develop a deep understanding of the music industry - both stylistically and in terms of careers. So you could be studying music business skills and beat boxing one day and classical traditions the next. You will study composition and performance, digital and traditional, and examine techniques and form. We understand music and know that tastes are eclectic, so we teach a wide variety of styles to give you inspiration and the tools to explore your creativity.
