Media and Cultural Production

BA(Hons) Media and Cultural Production helps you develop your own experimental and socially engaged projects from the start. Explore how digital media is embedded in our lives and gain first-hand knowledge of Bristol’s vibrant creative sector. Use the latest software, and use new technology in everything from virtual reality to interactive documentary making. Discover the cultural and historical impact of media, developing your expertise in research, writing and project design. Find out how to pitch your ideas, and prepare a portfolio of work oriented towards your chosen career. This course is firmly embedded in Bristol's creative and media sector. You'll work with leading practitioners based in the Digital Cultures Research Centre at the Pervasive Media Studio. This innovation hub offers exciting opportunities for volunteering, giving you first-hand insight into the professional landscape you're moving into. There’s also the option to do a summer or year-long placement. Digital media and production are major parts of the creative industries today. Your skills will be highly regarded by employers and give you the confidence to work independently. You’ll graduate ready for a career as a creative practitioner, creative researcher, project designer or manager. Some graduates go on to postgraduate study on courses like our MA Creative Producing course.
