With the widespread availability of data, statistics can now be applied across a growing range of industries. As well as supporting innovation in science, engineering and economics, the use of statistics aids organisational decision-making. This is through modelling and predicting outcomes - from community health to the length of shop queues. This has led to increased demand for qualified statisticians. You will develop a strong foundation in advanced mathematical and statistical methods and apply these to real world problems, including industrial quality control and finance.You will also study statistical analysis and how this can support organisational decision-making.
