Healthcare Science (Physiological Science)

BSc(Hons) Healthcare Science (Physiological Sciences) is the main training route for healthcare science practitioners. This course is accredited by the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) and the National School of Healthcare Science as part of Health Education England. With work-based training built in, you’ll get a thorough insight into all aspects of healthcare science. Explore a broad spectrum of healthcare science subjects, to gain a comprehensive overview and understanding of the biology of disease. Learn about the science underpinning the causes, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Gain insights into the latest developments in healthcare sciences, using specialist equipment, laboratories and learning materials. Spend more than 40 weeks on placements, developing knowledge and skills, through our links with local NHS providers throughout the South West. As the main training route into the NHS, the course sets you up with the skills, insights and experience to build a successful career in this field. You could work in a hospital clinic, as part of a medical or surgical team, or out in the community. You could also take your studies to MSc or PhD level, or undertake further NHS-based training or specialisation.
