Construction Project Management

There is a growing need in the construction industry for professionals who understand the management and business aspects of running a company, as well as the technology and project management of building. Our BSc (Hons) Construction Management is aimed at those working in the industry as well as students wanting to develop the knowledge and skills to succeed in this area. Through a blend of theory and practice, you will learn how to effectively manage the construction process to meet client needs within legal, economic and environmental constraints. Recognised for its innovative multi-disciplinary approach, the course encourages students to work in teams across professional areas. This reflects modern industry demands and provides a broader perspective. Thanks to our partnerships with key employers including Atkins, Willmott-Dixon and Balfour Beatty, the course is influenced by industry and provides opportunities to gain valuable experience. This is through site visits, work placements and guest presentations from industry figures and alumni. This course satisfies the academic requirements for you to become an 'Incorporate Member' of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).On completion, you will need at least two years work experience and to pass the CIOB's Professional Development Programme before achieving Chartered status. If you do a placement during your sandwich year, this may qualify as one year towards achieving chartered status.
