Business and Events Management

This course provides you with a comprehensive and current education in the business of events and events in business. Building on our established teaching and research expertise in tourism and events studies/management, and links with event organisations and venues in South West England, it equips you with essential knowledge and skills for a successful career in this dynamic industry. We offer a curriculum that aims to challenge your ways of thinking, learning and behaving, with issues of ethics and ethical decision-making, sustainability and global citizenship embedded throughout. On graduation you will have acquired an understanding of the main disciplines and operational areas of business (including marketing, financial and human resource management) and of event contexts, planning, operations and evaluation. You will also have had experience of staging a real event, and be in possession of the employability attributes and skills necessary for a career in events management; these include written and oral communication, critical thinking and problem solving.
