This degree is designed to provide students with the knowledge to equip them with the necessary tools to become a design engineer; students also learn important management skills that are needed to be effective in any current manufacturing operation, including project management, team working, problem-solving, presentation and negotiating skills. The industry requires Aerospace Engineers who have a good knowledge of different perspectives within the design and build process, as well as knowledge of how the industry operates. This course responds to this change in requirement. Alongside the fundamentals of aerospace engineering, you will specialise in either Aerospace Design, Aerospace Systems or Aerospace Manufacturing. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to learn to fly and to possibly gain your PPL through our collaborative relationship with Northwestern Michigan College, US. This degree has been accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). An accredited degree will provide you with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). Some employers recruit preferentially from accredited degrees, and an accredited degree is likely to be recognised by other countries that are signatories to international accords.
