Modern Languages with Linguistics

**Why Warwick?** We’re a world-leading university with the highest academic and research standards. Today more than 25,000 students thrive across four faculties, which feature over 70 research centres and institutes. We’re a constant presence in the rankings of the UK’s and the world’s greatest universities, and the most targeted institution nationally by the UK’s top 100 employers (The Graduate Market in 2017, High Fliers Research Ltd). All of this means you’ll be welcomed to a safe, energetic and cosmopolitan campus with flexible, well-equipped study spaces to help you stretch yourself personally, professionally and academically. Whether you want to be a front-runner in a fast-moving graduate job market, or to make a difference and change the world, we want you here. **The course** On this degree, you will spend 25% of your time on each of three languages or on two languages and culture (total 75%) and 25% of your time on Linguistics. If taking 2 languages: Your first language must be post A Level (or equivalent) French, German, Italian or Spanish. Your second language can be taken at any level (dependent on prior qualifications/experience) if it is French, German, Italian or Spanish. If it is Mandarin Chinese or Japanese, it can be taken from beginner, intermediate or post A-Level maximum (please note that applicants with Mandarin Chinese or Japanese language ability above this level, including native speakers, would not be able to study this language). If it is Arabic, Portuguese or Russian, it can usually only be taken at beginner’s level; if you have any prior learning of the language, please contact ugadmissions@warwick.ac.uk before applying. If taking 3 languages: Your first language must be post A Level (or equivalent) French, German, Italian or Spanish.
