The HND Cultural Industries Management programme provides the skills and understanding for graduates to contribute to the growth of the increasingly significant creative and cultural industries sector. Students study business from a sustainable and ethical perspective combined with modules focused on the specific requirements of the creative and cultural industries sector. The creative and cultural industries form an increasingly significant sector and are a source of entrepreneurship, inspiration and sustainable economic development. The Green Paper - Unlocking the potential of cultural and creative industries (2010) noted 'Many recent studies have shown that the cultural and creative industries represent highly innovative companies with a great economic potential and are one of Europe's most dynamic sectors, contributing around 2.6 % to GDP, with a high growth potential and providing quality jobs to around 5 million people across Europe. It also noted the need for the development of entrepreneurial and business skills to maximise innovation and the economic, social and cultural potential of the sector. Our HND Cultural Industries Management programme aims to develop your understanding of management issues as they apply to the cultural industries. The programme has sustainable and ethical thinking at its core and as a learner you will challenge existing paradigms, interrogate new paradigms and debate business solutions which will focus on developing and sustaining cultural industries as part of the wider economy and community.
