Get practical training in producing TV and radio shows. Cover the academic study of the media, film and culture. Study in our dedicated Media Centre, home to BBC Newcastle, MADE in Tyne and Wear and our award winning Community Station Spark Radio and Spark TV. Join a Creative Skillset Tick awarded course which best prepares you for a career in the industry. Media Production BA (Hons) has been awarded the Creative Skillset Tick, the industry kitemark of quality, following a rigorous assessment process by experts working in the Creative Industries. The Creative Skillset Tick is awarded to practice-based courses which best prepare students for a career in the industry. As part of your training, you will undertake a series of practical projects and fulfil live briefs from key industry players, making full use of the University’s TV studios, radio studios, editing suites and other facilities. In your final year, you will get to choose your route to lead to Media Production (TV) BA (Hons), Media Production (Radio) BA (Hons) or Media Production BA (Hons). Which ever route you choose you will develop and pitch ideas and produce a major piece of work in your chosen medium.
