It is this only course of its kind in the North East, and it’s offered by the largest glass and ceramics department in Europe. Practical making is at the centre of this course, from traditional to technological methods, and you will gain a diverse, transferrable skills set including making skills in glass and ceramics and other media, digital design skills, presentation skills, writing skills and career planning skills. You will gain first-hand experience of key techniques: hot glass; kiln-formed glass; architectural glass and contemporary ceramic practice. In addition you will study professional skills such as drawing, computer aided design and materials technology. You will be taught by passionate, experienced award-winning professionals and be offered professional world opportunities within the creative industries.
