Develop your technical skills and personal creativity and enjoy excellent training for careers in film, television and new media. Utilise our state-of-the-art equipment and facilities in the David Puttnam Media Centre, home to BBC Newcastle, MADE in Tyne and Wear and our award winning Spark Radio and TV. You will take core modules that develop the craft of digital filmmaking, using the University’s digital camera systems as well as industry-standard editing software including Final Cut Pro and Avid products. Modules include a series of practical projects, culminating in a major project in your final year. There are also options to study more theory-based modules. In addition to subject-specific skills, you will also build up transferable skills in communication, teamwork and creativity. These will help you move into rewarding jobs in the media after the end of the course.
