The course is specifically designed for students interested in gaining the essential skills and knowledge base needed in order to reach their full potential in what is an ever evolving and fast-paced industry, with the prospect of registration following the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) model, and the aspiration of coaching becoming a licensed profession (National Coaching Foundation 2008). This programme of study is thus responsive and flexible and as current as possible, encouraging a culture of self-reflection and continuous professional development in students. The staff team are not only university lecturers but also sporting professionals, such as coaches currently operating within the current environment, along with various quest lectures given by those working across a diverse range of disciplines. Typical careers following this course include: Sports Development Officer, Sports Coach, Youth Sports Worker.
