Coaches teach and develop athletes throughout all stages of a their competitive career. The modern coach must be able to employ contemporary techniques in their coaching practice, by understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the latest coaching philosophies. They must also harness the scientific expertise and support available to them, to create an ideal environment for athlete and team development. Students will gain the theoretical and practical skillset to coach in elite sport. The four year integrated Masters degree combines undergraduate and postgraduate study into a single degree. Our graduates have secured fantastic employment following their degree. Currently, our graduates work as coaches and performance analysts for Ipswich Town FC, as performance analysts for Arsenal FC, and as Head of Performance Analysis at the University of Missouri, in the United States of America. Although you focus on coaching during the course, your skills are transferrable, opening up a whole spectrum of opportunities across sport, exercise and health professions. Your exposure to elite coaching and world-leading sport science facilities will ensure you and your CV are ‘career ready’.
