This course is to equip students with the fundamental knowledge commensurate for an incorporated mechanical engineer role within industry. This course provides advanced research skill development through implementation and has optional workshop experience. Many of our students have progressed into either further higher study at the MEng and/or PhD level, or full-time employment within regional and national organisations at the Incorporated Engineer level undertaking a wide array or design and project engineering roles. Many have now progressed into supervisory and management roles and have won prestigious awards from both national employers and national apprenticeship services. Specific destination data demonstrates that many are now undertaking highly valued roles and further development, specifically including the following: PhD study at Birmingham, Cranfield, Sheffield Hallam and Derby Universities, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Project Engineer, Design Engineer, Maintenance Engineer (various industries including nuclear power generation, food processing and manufacturing), HM Armed Forces (Officer Training and development to Senior Non-Commissioned Officer), Project Leader, Special Projects Manager, Senior Projects Engineer and Senior Manager (Deputy Plant Manager) are only a few roles that you can go into.
