Applied Sociology and Law

The sociology component of the combined honours route analyses how societies shape our beliefs, behaviour and identity through selected subjects such as education, the family, gender, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, and globalisation. Law examines how various aspects of the law are shaped and how the legal system affects different groups in society. Graduates are prepared for a wide variety of careers such as social work, education, the criminal justice system, local government and community development, advocacy, advice, community justice, crime prevention, dispute resolution and mediation, employment law and aspects of property law. Student can also process onto furthers studies at Postgraduate level.
