Sport and Exercise Psychology is a specialist discipline within the wider sport and exercise environment. Recent developments internationally have acknowledged the importance of sport and exercise psychologists in maximising sport performance at all levels of competition, providing support for those recovering from injury or chronic illness and advising individuals on how to achieve health and fitness goals. A range of topics will be covered including psychology for health and wellbeing, performance psychology, neuropsychology and social psychology. All theoretical elements will be practically applied to the exercise and sporting context throughout the course. You will study in a state-of-the-art sport and exercise science lab comprising of high tech equipment for sport and exercise psychology, skill acquisition and motor control. This course prepares you for individual accreditation from British Association for Sport and Exercise Science and British Psychological Society on graduation, whilst giving you the opportunity to be accredited and HPC regulated – recognised practitioners by the NHS.
